Post natal pilates to get in shape

Taking a pilates class is an excellent idea if you have just given birth not to long ago. Post-natal pilates will help you regain any muscular strength you may have lost over the pregnancy, when you were likely taking it relatively easy.

Additionally, this type of exercise will not place a great deal of stress on the joints, so you can be sure you stay injury free.

Some of the muscles that will be primarily worked when you perform a class of this nature are the pelvic floor and lower back muscles. These can be particularly weak in some women so this is a very good thing as far as your recovery is concerned.

Be sure before you start the class, you do a thorough warm-up so you can effectively move the body through a wide range of motion. If you have been resting a lot lately, since giving birth, it will be expected that you will have lost some of your flexibility. You will definitely be able to regain this after performing these classes for a few weeks; however, initially it is best to take it easy.

Finally, make sure that whomever you choose to take your class from is fully certified. This is critical to ensure that you are going to get the best results from your session and are not in any way putting your health at risk.
