Critical illness cover

In short, Critical Illness cover ensures that you get paid a lump sum on the diagnosis of cancer, heart disease or similar terminal disease. Taken out by a range of UK people who do not have enough money saved away, have dependents, or are the main breadwinner, critical illness cover ensures you provide for when you are not there.

On average, a policy of this kind will set you back from about ?25 a month and if you get one of seven critical illnesses, like heart disease, or cancer, it could give you a ?100,000 lump sum, to pay off your mortgage for example.

Compare leading companies in this field using our list below. Remember that their prices may range widely, so it is best to seek at least two or three quotes before deciding.
