Fitness classes for improved health

There all different kinds of fitness classes, so it's worth checking out a few to see which one is right for you.

There's no doubt that exercise classes have come a long way from the 80s, when Jane Fonda inspired a wave of high impact aerobics classes.

These days even an average health club will offer options such as spinning, yoga, Pilates, various cardio fitness classes, core workouts, circuit training, maybe even boxercise, plus choices for the over 60s.

With these many choices on offer there's truly something for everyone, so if you don't currently attend any classes, now is the perfect time to try some out.

Class phases

All well-run fitness classes have several phases to them - these usually include warm up, cardio, flexibility and cool-down.
