Cosmetic surgery for eyes

People all across the UK suffer from permanent eyelash loss for one reason or another and it really can affect their self confidence. Having to wear fake eyelashes on a daily basis can be time consuming and expensive and cosmetic surgery could be the answer.

The largest cosmetic surgery in the UK, Transform, has announced the establishment of the UK's first ever eyelash transplant. This allows men and women to do away with the need for false eyelashes by receiving actual new eyelashes through a micro-surgical transplant procedure.

Available only in the UK by Transform, this micro-surgical eyelash transplant procedure is a groundbreaking process that results in the permanent treatment of eyelash loss, or madarosis.

Performed under local anesthesia, the procedure is simple and usually takes no longer than four hours. Dissected under a microscope, a hair graft from the back of the head is harvested and inserted into very small incisions in the eyelid.

Natural results are seen in as little as 4-6 months after the procedure is performed. Only one session is usually required, and the process is minimally invasive, which mean healing is quick.

Sufferers of alopecia, hair loss due to chemotherapy or radiation, and trichotillomania (self-inflicted obsessive hair plucking) make the ideal candidates. False eyelashes for cosmetic reasons could become a thing of the past with this treatment since it can also be used to enhance and improve the length and fullness of eyelashes, permanently.

Shami Thomas, a spokesperson for Transform, remarks: "As the largest plastic surgery provider in the United Kingdom, we want to offer our patients a renewed confidence, and that's why we're constantly searching for cutting edge treatments that allow us to do just that."

"The Americans are the pioneers in the industry, so we look to them for the latest techniques and technologies in cosmetic surgery, but we've yet to find another that's as successful and safe as the one we use currently. Our patients find the eyelash transplant procedure is a very safe, cost-effective and pain-free treatment that can have life-changing effects."

Case Study

The first patient treated at Transform in the UK was a 19-year-old girl named Louise Thomas of Stockport, Manchester. Having been a trichotilomania sufferer for 17 years, she comments, "I never thought that I'd ever have real lashes ever again and had learned to live without them. That's devastating to a young girl like me."

"The eyelash transplant treatment really sounded too good to be true, but I'm so glad I tried it. It's like a miracle! I feel amazing. It isn't the big things either. Simple things like applying mascara make such a big difference for me."
